Our Story
Our son,Graigory, was found with what we thought was a hernia to his lower abdomen. After some tests-ultrasounds and catscans- it was thought the mass was a cyst. The day the so called "cyst" was removed (11-28-2007) we heard the worst news we could ever hear --the cyst actually was a neuroblastoma. Our son luckily was only 9 months at the time which gave him beytter odds the cancer did not matastasize through his body. He underwent some more tests post surgery-catscans, bone scan, and a bone marrow aspirate. We heard good news no more cancer was detected. His total stay in the hospital (children's hospital of philadelphia) was 1 week. He now has to go every 3 months for a MRI to be certain the cancer does not grow back. Our families are so grateful for what all the doctors and nurses have done for our son. We were one of the lucky families who do not have to undergo chemo or radiation. We do wish all the luck in the world to the patients and families who were not as lucky as us. All you children are in our prayers .
