Thank you for taking the time to stop and read how MaKenzie is doing. Thank you for your prays as they have been much needed. Continue to pray as this road has only just begun. We thank you again for you thoughts, Nelson, Malissa and MaKenzie.
MaKenzie was born on July 31, 2005. A much awaited delivery she was. Being it has been almost 6 years since the family had a baby and 10 since a girl was born. Her birth brought so much joy to the family. MaKenzie has 2 older sister and 3 older brothers. Amber is 13, Jason 11, Sharod 10, Mattheau is 8, and Kylah is 5. She never gets put down when the family is around. Her Brothers and sisters are how she got her name. We had several names picked out so the family got together and took a vote and MaKenzie Nicole was winning vote. Our journey started the weekend of Nov 11, 2005. We went to Ga for Amber’s birthday party. The kids where so happy to see the baby. They where playing with her trying to make her laugh. Sitting there watching all the kids together playing was so nice then I noticed something was not right. MaKenzie was smiling at the kids and moving her arms but not her legs. I started doing different tickling test on her feet and had no response. I knew something was wrong but I did not want to alarm the kids it was the first weekend we where all together with the baby. I took her to the doc first thing Monday morning and he sent us to Children’s in Birmingham where my nightmare began. MaKenzie was diagnosis with stage 3 Neuroblastoma. It has been a long road so far and it is just beginning. We hope you stay along for the ride as we are still going on our journey. Thank You for stopping by and reading our story.
