Erin Buenger

Erin Buenger
11 years old
relapsed neuroblastoma, in treatment
Bryan, TX, United States

Our Story

Erin was basically asymptomatic except for intermittent back pain before her neuroblastoma tumor was diagnosed on July 17, 2002. She had a rather large tumor in her abdomen, below her heart and in front of her spine, tumor cells in one of six slides of her bone marrow, but no other metastases. We began a year long series of treatments at Texas Children's Hospital in Houston that started with chemotherapy and included almost everything else you can imagine. She was tumor free for two years before relapsing in March 2005. Low dose chemo seems to be keeping the tumor at bay for now. Erin is an awesome kid. She excels at school (5th grade), plays soccer and softball, rides horses, and sings in a children's choir. Her brother, Davis, is an equally talented young man who plays soccer and chess. He goes to Rice University in Houston.

Thank you

The Buengers appreciate every cent that is raised to support research for neuroblastoma treatment. Thank you for supporting this cause. Erin's life is in your hands.
