Our Story
Ansley was diagnosed with Stg. II NB in June of '99. She was treated with chemo through September and we were told she had reached NED. Much to our horror, on her first follow-up visit Dec. 23, '99 we learned the cancer was back, had spread to both lungs and she was now a Stg. IV. Treatment at this point was significantly stepped up with two lung surgeries, large doses of heavy chemo with not much effect. We were told about the wonderful experimental MIBG/stem cell transplant protocol at the U of Michigan and when Ansley reached minimal disease we went to Ann Arbor to receive her treatment. Ansley was in remission over 4 1/2 yrs. till 11/04. She underwent another lengthy surgery, 21 rounds of radiation and is currently on Accutane. She is our miracle girl, full of life, love, energy, fun, personality. She is thriving in fourth grade. We are very blessed.
Thank you
We would like to thank all the donors who participate in the Lunch for Life. Our daughter was a direct recipient of an experimental treatment that was funded through programs just like this one. She is currently entering her fourth year of remission and without continued research and funding, our daughter, like so many others would not be here. Whether it is a lunch, $1, $100 or $1000 that donors may be able to give-IT ALL COUNTS and may go to fund a cure that could save your own loved one like it has ours. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
