Our beautiful Alex was born on Aug 24, 2000, a very big healthy boy. He changed our lives forever. In March of 2003, he started showing symptoms (belly pain, high fevers, limping, lathargic, constipation). We had him to see the doctor 2 times, in the ER once (everyone told us it was something viral, take him home and give him tylenol and motrin). Finally three weeks later, when he woke up and couldn't walk, they found a lump on his neck and sent us to Children's of Pgh where the next day we were told that he had Stage IV NB. We spent the next thirteen months with one thing on our minds, healing our precious baby boy from this monster. He went through chemo, surgery, stem cell transplant, radiation and one round of the 3F8 antibody. When we went back for the second round, they found a large tumor in his chest. We brought him home with maybe one month with him. He fought for 5 weeks and won his battle on June 6, 2004 when Jesus took him to his new home in Heaven. We miss him more and more each day that passes without him here with us on earth. We love you Bug! Love, Mommy, Daddy Addy and your very favorite brother, Neil Pie!
